Co-CreATe '20 Riyadh brings together students from MIT and local universities to apply this co-design process to the identification, documentation, and prototyping of early-stage innovations in assistive technology products. The workshop is focused on empowering local designers, makers, and engineers (citizen-inventorsĀ) to collaboratively develop new assistive technologies alongside local people living with disabilities (co-designers). At the end of the workshop event, a review panel will convene, the most compelling and promising teams will be selected to move forward into the Fellowship Period. The official beginning of the year-long fellowship begins at the end of the workshop event. The selected teams will gain access to mentoring about technical and operational logistics and professional networking with weekly online community meetings and online consultations with program staff and mentors from MIT, local university and research centres. Membership to the fellowship must be actively maintained by the teams with the satisfactory completion of four Progress reports as determined by their mentors and program administrative staff. Teams are expected to address any feedback before progressing to each milestone. For more information please visit
